Even before the title meteorological phenomenon appears, The Perfect Storm starts out loud with  a score by James Horner, who, since he also composed the score for Titanic may get typecast as an orchestrator of marine disasters. And this score starts out loud and gets louder. Perhaps that is appropriate because The Perfect Storm is one of those films that seems more like a testosterone-fueled theme park thrill ride than a real (or reel) movie. |
